SAX-Tanzania (Dar es Salaam) could be up and running by the end of this year should it secure all requisite regulatory approvals from the Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority. The Fly SAX (Nairobi Jomo Kenyatta) subsidiary plans to operate a fleet of 68-seater Dash 8-400s on flights from Dar es Salaam to Kilimanjaro, Mwanza, and Kigoma.

“Since we announced our plans to launch the airline earlier this year, we have been working hard to get all the regulatory approvals in place to ensure that during Christmas time, we have an efficient airline servicing Tanzanians as well as international tourists,” said Don Smith, CEO & Founder of Fly-SAX and Fly540 (FFV, Nairobi Jomo Kenyatta). “We are in the process of recruiting the crews, sourced locally within the country, and training them to deliver service to international standards, making sure they are ready in time for the Christmas rush.”

Parent Fly-SAX is a Kenyan safari and private charter airline operating flights throughout Kenya as well as to Somalia, the Comoros, and Tanzania from Nairobi Jomo Kenyatta and Nairobi Wilson airports.
