Air Canada (AC, Montréal Trudeau) has announced that it has reached a new agreement with the Air Canada Pilots Association (ACPA) on the terms for a new ten-year labour contract. The airline said in a statement that the agreement will pave the way for it to further the implementation of its business strategy and support long term profitable growth.

The ACPA said it was pleased to have reached a new agreement with Air Canada adding that the new contract will provide its members with stability and security of employment, career progression, fair compensation, and a share of the airline’s financial success.

“At the same time, our new agreement provides Air Canada with the stability and flexibility to grow and prosper, which is good for all its stakeholders, including our members,” said ACPA President, Captain Craig Blandford. "I believe this agreement marks a definite improvement in the relationship between Air Canada and its pilots, providing us with a firm foundation on which to build for future success.”

Details of the agreement, reached before the expiration of the current collective agreement in April 2016, will not be released until ratification by both the ACPA membership and approval by Air Canada's Board of Directors.
