PIA - Pakistan International Airlines (PK, Islamabad International) will soon take delivery of five ATR72-500s for use on its domestic network. PIA chairman, Muhammad Ali Gardezi, told The Tribune newspaper that the airline's board of directors had approved the decision paving the way for their arrival in December.

Currently, PIA operates a fleet of six ATR42-500s of which two, AP-BHM (cn 659) and AP-BHN (cn 661), are currently in storage.

On Monday, October 13, the carrier took delivery of the first two out of three A320-200s on wet-lease from Bulgaria's Air Via (Sofia). The aircraft will be operated on six-month contracts, PIA Managing Director Shahnawaz Rehman said.
