Indonesia AirAsia X (IDX, Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta) is set to commence scheduled long haul operations on December 22 this year. According to the YPPH Updates blog, the AirAsia (AK, Kuala Lumpur International) subsidiary will offer a 5x weekly Denpasar to Melbourne Tullamarine service on-board an A330-300 aircraft.
A joint-venture between Air Asia X and Indonesia's PT Kirana Anugerah Perkasa (PTKAP), the start-up secured its Air Operators Certificate (AOC) from Indonesia's Directorate General of Civil Aviation and Transport ministry on September 4.
