Vietnam Airlines (VN, Hanoi Noi Bai International) will launch its Initial Public Offering (IPO) on the Ho Chi Minh City stock exchange on November 14, 2014. According to its filing, the airline will have a charter capital of VND14.101trillion (USD662.75million) after equitization, equivalent to more than 1.41billion shares with a par value of VND10'000 (USD0.47) per share.

The initial public offering price per share will be VND22'300 (USD1.048).

As previously reported, Hanoi will retain a 75% stake in the carrier with 20% going towards strategic investors. Of the remaining 5%, 3.475% will be set aside for public auction, while the rest will be sold off to airline employees and members of its trade union.

Vietnam Airlines is considering selling its 20% stake to up to three foreign strategic partners by February 2015. According to a privatisation plan published by Vietnam Airlines' consultant firm BIDV Securities, while the carrier would prefer a single foreign airline as a strategic partner, it is willing to consider overseas financial investors after the IPO.
