V air (Taipei Taoyuan) has said its first aircraft will be an A321-200 (sl), B-22608 (cn 6009), dry-leased from parent, TransAsia Airways (Taipei Sung Shan). The LCC plans to configure the aircraft with 194 seats.

The start-up is currently undergoing certification with the Taiwanese Civil Aeronautics Administration (TCAA) ahead of its planned launch with Taipei Taoyuan to Bangkok Don Mueang flights later this year.

Backed by TWD3billion (USD100million), V air is expected to launch in December and will go head to head with the new China Airlines-Tigerair joint venture, Tigerair Taiwan (IT, Taipei Taoyuan), which launched last month.
