Atlasjet UA (Lviv) is studying the An-148-100 and the An-158 for use on its planned domestic Ukrainian and regional European/former CIS network. Atlasjet UA CEO, Sergey Podgorodetsky, told local media house delo.ua that initial talks with the Antonov Design Bureau (ADB, Gostomel) were held in July.

"While Atlasjet Airlines (Antalya) (the carrier's Turkish parent) has settled on the Airbus A320/A321 for its medium to longhaul needs, it has yet to decide on what to use for its shorthaul domestic and regional services. After reviewing all the Pros and Cons, Turkish investors and the company management have come to believe that the An-148 would be the best possible fit for Atlasjet UA's regional fleet," he said.

Operational since September after several delays owing to the crisis affecting eastern Ukraine, Atlasjet UA's fleet consists of two A320-200s currently in service for Atlasjet.

Once actual flights commence, the carrier has plans to serve Kyiv Boryspil, Chernivtsi, Lviv, Kharkiv, Donetsk, Odesa, and Kherson domestically as well as Berlin Tegel, Prague Václav Havel, Moscow Sheremetyevo, St. Petersburg, Naples Capodichino, Istanbul Atatürk, Yerevan, and Madrid Barajas regionally.
