TAMPA Cargo (Medellín José Maria Córdova) has completed its acquisition of a minority stake in Mexican freight specialist, AeroUnion (6R, México City International). The Avianca Holdings affiliate said in its SEC filing that the Mexican foreign investment control, civil aviation, and competition authorities had all assented to the buy in. The size of the shareholding acquired was not disclosed.

AeroUnion is a scheduled cargo carrier operating four A300B4(F)s and two B767-200(F)s on services within Mexico and between Mexico and the USA. For its part, TAMPA Cargo operates four A330-200Fs and a B767-300F under the avianca cargo (QT, Medellín José Maria Córdova) brand on flights throughout Latin America and Europe.
