Orenburzhye Airlines (ORG, Orenburg) will take delivery of three leased Embraer (EMB, São José dos Campos Professor Urbano Ernesto Stumpf) aircraft during June next year as the Orenburg-based carrier seeks to increase capacity across its network. Airline managing director, Sergei Kalinovsky, told Russia's TASS newswire that the aircraft would add to its existing fleet of six Let 410s.

"We are in talks with the Brazilians to lease three Embraer aircraft with a capacity of about 100 seats. These aircraft will be used on our more popular regional routes such as Kazan International - Nizhny Novgorod Strigino, Orenburg - Nizhniy Novgorod, and Samara Kurumoch - Nizhny Novgorod," he said.

Previously reported plans to acquire three An-148-100s from Antonov Design Bureau (ADB, Gostomel) have been dropped in favour of more viable options, Kalinovsky added.

Founded by the Orenburg local government in 2013, Orenburzhye offers scheduled intra-regional flights to Saratov Tsentralny, Kirov, Ekaterinburg, Samara, Nizhny Novgorod, Ufa, Kazan, and Perm Bolshoye Savino. It also acts as a feeder for Aeroflot (SU, Moscow Sheremetyevo) subsidiary, Orenair (Orenburg).
