American Airlines (AA, Dallas/Fort Worth) and partner US Airways (Phoenix Sky Harbor) have announced their frequent flyer programs will merge during the second quarter of 2015. US Airways' Dividend Miles scheme will be integrated into American Airlines' AAdvantage loyalty programme with mileage balances, the alignment of elite levels, and qualification criteria to be adapted accordingly.

American began offering reciprocal benefits to AAdvantage and Dividend Miles members in January 2014, just one month after the close of the merger.

The merger of the two programmes is the next step in American's merger with US Airways following the recent integration of their respective cargo divisions.
