SkyWork Airlines (Bern) CEO Martin Inäbnit has unveiled his airline's turnaround programme dubbed "Go50Plus". Austrian Aviation Net says Inäbnit has set a 2015 deadline for the carrier to become profitable with one of the goals to generate enough profit during the summer months in order to tide the carrier through the difficult winter months.

As part of the plan, the carrier is considering replacing its fleet of five Do328-100s with Saab 2000s which, Inäbnit said, are better suited to their market. However despite their suitability, the fact they are no longer in production has made them difficult to come by, he added.

The ATR42 had also been considered, the CEO added.

"About the ATR42, although there are many machines on the market, these aircraft are, unfortunately, slow, and therefore not suitable," he ended.

Prior to its buyout from Daniel Borer, SkyWork had proffered a Dash 8-400 fleet to the charter market where it had seen strong demand. Three machines have since been disposed of to LGW - Luftfahrtgesellschaft Walter (Dortmund) which operates them for and on behalf of Air Berlin (1991) (Berlin Tegel).
