SAS Scandinavian Airlines (SK, Copenhagen Kastrup) has announced the sale of its Oslo Gardermoen MRO base to Norway's largest municipal pension fund, Oslo Pensjonsforsikring, for NOK650million (USD96.29million). The carrier will subsequently lease back the facility on a 15 year contract with options to extend it.

"We are pleased with this sale which gives us a new long-term and solid owner that understands the pivotal role this facility plays in Oslo Gardermoen's operations," Bjørn Frivold, head of SAS Facility Management, said.

Built in 1998 on 60,000 sqm of land that belong to Norwegian airport operator, Avinor, the facility is capable of handling up to 11 aircraft simultaneously.
