Starbow Airlines (Accra) has not been grounded per se the Ghanaian Civil Aviation Authority (GhCAA) has said. The regulatory body said in a statement that although two of the carrier's three BAe146s (one BAe 146-200 and two BAe 146-300s) had been grounded after one, 9G-SBD (cn 2059), suffered an hydraulic failure on take-off from Takoradi last month, Starbow as a whole had not been grounded.

The GhCAA says that at the time of the incident on October 28, of the three BAe146s, one had been parked with the other two fully operational. Following the incident, however, it had decided to ground both remaining serviceable aircraft as a safety precaution.

Starbow resumed operations in the afternoon on November 4 according to a public statement issued by the carrier.

Starbow operates flights throughout Ghana connecting Accra with Kumasi, Tamale and Takoradi.
