Braniff International Airways (1928) (Dallas Love Field) is set to see a fourth attempted resurrection, this time through Braniff International (St. Louis Lambert International), a subsidiary of Braniff Holdings, Inc. According to its launch plans, the rejuvenated Braniff is looking to start operations early next year.

"All key indicators have leveraged a favorable decision to move forward as we are now positioning for a reintegration in a 2015 audience," a statement read.

Management, recruited from failed Pan American Airways (Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson), says preliminary discussions have been held with counterparts at St. Louis Lambert International Airport over the possible use of the airport as a mid-west hub.

Braniff plans to offer scheduled services to select domestic destinations, as well as group charter charters, casino travel packages, and executive business class shuttles to various Caribbean and Latin American destinations.

The original Braniff Airlines was launched in 1928 and operated primarily in the midwestern and southwestern United States, Mexico, Central America, South America, and in the late 1970s, Asia and Europe. However, stiff competition brought on by the deregulation of the US airline industry in the 70s coupled with high fuel prices forced it to cease operations in May 1982.

It was succeeded by Braniff Inc. which launched in 1983 and folded in 1990, and then by the shortlived Braniff International Airlines (1991) (Dallas/Fort Worth) which launched in 1990 only to fold the following year.
