Kampala Aeroclub (Entebbe/Kampala) has been reissued its Air Operators Certificate (AOC) by the Ugandan Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA) paving the way for it to resume regional and international operations.

In June, Ugandan carriers operating abroad were forced to restrict their operations to domestic flights with the UCAA requiring all operators to undergo recertification.

"KAFTC/Fly Uganda are the first company to complete the UCAA recertification process following the withdrawal or amending of all Uganda Operator Certificates to restrict all Uganda Operators either completely, or to Domestic Operations only, whilst the recertification process was completed," the carrier said in a statement.

The UCAA directive wreaked havoc among local carriers with Air Uganda (Entebbe/Kampala) the most serious casualty.

Kampala Aeroclub operates a diverse fleet of Cessna (single turboprop) Grand Caravans, Bell Helicopters, BN-2s, and a DHC-6-400, on charter flights throughout Uganda and the sub-region.
