Amaszonas (Z8, La Paz El Alto) will lease nine additional Bombardier Aerospace (BBA, Montréal Trudeau) aircraft to meet its regional expansion needs through 2017 the airline general manager Sergio de Urioste has said.

During the carrier's inaugural flight to Salta in Argentina last week, de Urioste, while declining to give exact details, said Amaszonas intends to serve up to 40 destinations by 2017 with cities such as Rio de Janeiro International and Foz do Iguaçu International among those being considered.

Currently, the Bolivian carrier operates a fleet of seven CRJ200s on flights to 21 destinations in Bolivia, Peru, Uruguay, Paraguay, Chile, Argentina and Brazil.
