Komiaviatrans (KMA, Syktyvkar) has taken delivery of its first of six E145s - VQ-BWP (cn 145781) - formerly with China Southern Airlines (CZ, Guangzhou). The Chinese carrier recently completed the retirement of the type from its fleet with B-3061 (cn 145755) operating its last commercial flight earlier this month.
As the first operator of the type in Russia, Komaviatrans' fleet of ERJ-145s are on lease from Gazprom subsidiary, Gaztechleasing, and will be used to develop routes from Moscow and St. Petersburg to Syktyvkar, Ukhta, Vorkuta, Usinsk, Sochi, Mineralnye Vody, and Krasnodar. The Embraer jets are replacing the carrier's fleet of three Let 410s.
