Air France (AF, Paris CDG) and partner KLM Royal Dutch Airlines (KL, Amsterdam Schiphol) have announced plans to sell a 2.2% stake in Amadeus IT Holding S.A. through a derivatives deal with Germany's Deutsche Bank.

"This transaction will allow the Group to protect the value of these [9,900,000 ordinary] shares, while continuing to benefit from the potential upside on the price of its remaining shares (9.8 million shares representing approximately 2.2% of Amadeus IT Holding S.A.)," a filing to the Paris Euronext bourse said.

Following the sale, the Franco-Dutch carrier's stake in the Spanish travel IT firm will sit at roughly 2.2%.
