Tausani Airlines (Pago Pago) is set to sign an agreement with the American Samoan government next week paving the way for it to operate the administration's Britten-Norman BN-2, N684AS (cn 897). The aircraft was previously allocated to Manu'a Airways (Pago Pago) only for it to lose the contract when it failed to launch operations this year as scheduled.

Earlier this week, Tausani's president, Filifa’atali Mike Fuiava, dismissed concerns about his airline's links with Guam's Freedom Air (Guam) (Guam International), whose own future has been in doubt given its bankruptcy filing in September last year. In an interview with Samoa News, Fuiava said that while Tausani would use the Guamian carrier's Air Operator's Certificate (AOC) in its initial stages, the two carriers will remain separate from a business perspective.

As it stands, Tausani will continue to operate under Freedom Air's AOC until it can secure its own, Fuiava said.

Once the Islander is returned to operational status, Tausani plans to offer scheduled flights from Pago Pago to Ofu and Tau on the Manu'a Islands.
