Delta Air Lines (DL, Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson) has reached an agreement with United Airlines (UA, Chicago O'Hare) allowing the former access to Dallas Love Field through to July 6. Delta was to have lost its access to the central Dallas airport in October last year when American Airlines transferred its gates at the airport, one of which was leased to Delta, to Virgin America. Southwest Airlines in turn offered Delta access to one of its gates thereby allowing it to maintain its five daily B717-200 flights to Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson until January 6.

However, according to the Travelpulse magazine, Delta and United concluded talks last week ahead of a Dallas City Council deliberation on Delta's continued presence at the airport.

"We have entered into a commercial agreement to voluntarily provide Delta access to our gate at Love Field," United Airlines spokesman Luke Punzenberger said. "We will continue managing our flights and gates at the airport in the best interests of our customers."

United Airlines has two gates at Dallas Love Field one of which is sub-leased to Southwest while the other is used for seven daily E145 flights to Houston Intercontinental.
