Avies (Tallinn Lennart Meri) has been awarded two Public Service Obligation (PSO) contracts by the Swedish Transport Administration (Trafikverket) following a tender process. The regulatory body said the Estonian carrier would operate Stockholm Arlanda to Sveg and Östersund to Umeå flights on a 4-year long contract beginning in October of this year.

Though Avies currently operates the former route, virtual carrier Direktflyg (Borlänge/Falun) terminated the Estonians' contract to operate the latter route late last year citing safety concerns and poor on-time performance.
