LOT Polish Airlines (LO, Warsaw Chopin) has wet-leased a B767-300F from Cargojet Airways (W8, Hamilton, ON) for use on its recently launched Warsaw Chopin to New York JFK freight service. The flights this year will operate from January to April and from October to December.

According to AirCargoWorld, the freighter service was deemed necessary because fewer passenger flights are scheduled during the winter, resulting in less belly space available for cargo and mail shipments.

The Polish carrier has cooperated with the Canadians before. In 2009 they offered service between Toronto Pearson and Katowice Pyrzowice while in 2012 they offered a 2x-weekly Chicago O'Hare to Katowice, Poland, service.
