American Airlines (AA, Dallas/Fort Worth) has exercised twenty-four of its forty CRJ900 NextGen aircraft options, originally acquired as part of its regional jet order with Bombardier Aerospace (BBA, Montréal Trudeau) in December 2013. The twinjets, which will be operated by affiliate PSA Airlines (OH, Dayton James M. Cox), are scheduled to begin arriving from this November through to August 2016.

“We are pleased to add these new aircraft to our growing fleet and see the award as a reflection of American’s continued confidence in PSA to provide friendly, reliable and cost-effective regional services for American’s customers,” said Dion Flannery, president of PSA Airlines.

Headquartered in Dayton, Ohio, PSA has flight-crew bases located in Dayton, Knoxville, Tennessee, and Charlotte, North Carolina, and maintains maintenance facilities in Knoxville McGhee Tyson and Akron Regional, Ohio, as well as Charlotte International. It currently operates nineteen CRJ-900s under the US Airways Express banner for and on behalf of US Airways (Phoenix Sky Harbor).
