Shenzhen Airlines (ZH, Shenzhen) officially launched its Chengdu Shuangliu base at a ceremony held in the Sichuan province metropolis last week. The base, the carrier's eighth overall after Guangzhou, Nanning, Zhengzhou, Changzhou, Wuxi, Shenyang Taoxian International, and Jinan, will see eight aircraft based at the airport initially growing to ten by the end of this year.

According to China's WCARN news portal, Chengdu is also a base for its namesake Chengdu Airlines (EU, Chengdu Shuangliu) as well as Air China (CA, Beijing Capital), Sichuan Airlines (3U, Chengdu Shuangliu), China Eastern Airlines (MU, Shanghai Hongqiao), Tibet Airlines (TV, Lhasa), and Lucky Air (China) (8L, Dali City). China Southern Airlines (CZ, Guangzhou) also intends to establish a base there and is currently in the process of finalizing its paperwork with the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC).
