Air Libya (7I, Tripoli Mitiga) has suspended an ACMI contract with UAE-based lessor Aerovista after the latter withdrew its fleet of aircraft from the troubled North African country citing security reasons.

The Libyan carrier, like fellow operator Afriqiyah Airways (8U, Tripoli Mitiga), had a contract with Aerovista in which a B737-300, 4L-AJW (msn 28733), was used for scheduled flights throughout the region while a B737-500, 4L-AJH (msn 25794), was based out of Tobruk for use in the charter market. Both aircraft are operated on the AOC of Aerovista subsidiary Vista Georgia (Tbilisi).

Aerovista's press office says the contracts have not been cancelled adding that they would consider returning immediately should the situation in Libya normalize.
