Sun-Air (EZ, Billund) will launch a route between Cambridge and Gothenburg Landvetter in March. The return flights, which will run four times a week, will act as a staff shuttle for AstraZeneca, a global pharmaceutical firm. According to the Telegraph, AstraZeneca has agreed to buy 20 of 32 available seats on each flight up-front while the rest will be sold through the airline.

Gothenburg will be the first scheduled destination out of Cambridge since CityJet (WX, Dublin International) left the airport in October last year. Cityjet itself replaced Darwin Airline (Lugano) that operated services from Cambridge to various destinations before leaving the airport just months after the first flight. Prior to Cityjet's suspension of operations there, it offered flights to Amsterdam Schiphol and Dublin International. As such, the only activity at the airfield is now general aviation and very limited holiday charter flights.
