Air Arabia (G9, Sharjah) has resumed scheduled passenger flights to Baghdad some days ago as the first airline from the United Arab Emirates. Services to the Iraqi capital were suspended by the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) immidiately after a flydubai (FZ, Dubai International) B737-800 came under gunfire while landing at the airport on January 26. The authority has recently lifted the ban after having investigated the case.

flydubai is following Air Arabia and has reinstated its flights as well, while Etihad Airways (EY, Abu Dhabi International) and Emirates (EK, Dubai International) have both yet to announce the resumption of Baghdad flights.
