Montenegro Airlines (Podgorica) is to sign a strategic cooperation agreement with Etihad Airways (EY, Abu Dhabi International) in June this year CEO Daliborka Pejović has said. The announcement comes a week after Serbia’s Deputy President for Cooperation with the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Mladjan Dinkić, helped facilitate talks between Emirati and Montengrin officials in Abu Dhabi.

According to EX-YU Aviation News, Pejović says the deal, which will entail codesharing, will also allow her carrier access to Etihad's resources thereby allowing it to improve fleet utilisation during the slow winter months.

No firm decision on Etihad acquiring equity in Montenegro Airlines has been reached Pejović added.
