China Eastern Airlines (MU, Shanghai Hongqiao) says its Jiangsu operation has applied to the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) to expand the parameters of its Air Operators Certificate (AOC).
According to WCARN news, the carrier wants to include the operation of domestic cargo and passenger services - including Hong Kong International, Macau International and Taiwan - as well as international cargo and passenger services into its licence.
Currently, the carrier's AOC is restricted to domestic cargo and passenger services.
