DAT - Danish Air Transport (Kolding) has put its sole MD-87 back in service after it was stored for several months in Billund. The aircraft (msn 49403) is registered as OY-JRU, was built in 1987 and has often been near to final retirement recently.

The twinjet will be mainly used on DAT´s new route from Karup to Copenhagen Kastrup which is going to be launched on March 29. Currently, the route is operated by DAT on behalf of Norwegian (Oslo Gardermoen).

Based in Karup, the aircraft will only be used on a weekdaily Copenhagen-bound morning departure and a return flight in the late evening. All other departures on the route will be operated with ATR aircraft. Besides, DAT will use the aircraft on charter services and a semi-charter flight from Odense to Naples Capodichino.

OY-JRU, equipped with 135 seats, has received a livery promoting the new route.
