Montenegro Airlines (Podgorica) backer, the Montenegrin government, has rubbished reports in the local press claiming the national carrier is planning to relocate to Belgrade in a bid to cut costs.

The local “Dnevne novine” newspaper had claimed the carrier was considering the switch, alongside plans to slash its workforce by half, as part of a strategic partnership agreement to be inked with Etihad Airways (EY, Abu Dhabi International) this summer.

According to EX-YU Aviation News, Podgorica labelled the claims "street talk."
