Saudia (SV, Jeddah International) along with Air India (AI, Delhi International) and Emirates (EK, Dubai International) will suspend their respective Kozhikode, India, operations for a period of six months beginning in May on account of the resurfacing of the airport's sole runway, 10/28.

Effective May 1 to October 31, all widebody aircraft will be forbidden from serving the airfield while narrowbody jets, such as those operated by Air Arabia, Air India, Air India Express, IndiGo Airlines, Jet Airways, Oman Air, Qatar Airways, Etihad Airways, and SpiceJet, will be subject to payload restrictions.

The airport will be also closed to all flights between 12h00L and 20h00L.
