Chalair Aviation (CE, Caen) will launch its first route to Germany on April 13 when it will start to connect Lyon St. Exupéry and Cologne/Bonn. The French regional carrier will initially offer two weekdaily flights per direction during weekdays with Beech 1900D.

The airline will compete with germanwings (4U, Cologne/Bonn) that operates up the three daily frequencies between Lyon and Düsseldorf, mainly with Eurowings (EW, Düsseldorf) CRJ900 equipment. Düsseldorf airport is located about 50 kilometres from Cologne/Bonn.

Chalair hereby follows Twin Jet (T7, Marseilles) that started flights from Lyon St. Exupéry to Stuttgart Manfred Rommel in June 2014 onboard Beech 1900Ds.

In other news, Chalair has also announced new seasonal routes linking Limoges with Barcelona El Prat and Nice as well as Perpignan with Ajaccio.
