Solaseed Air (6J, Miyazaki) is considering venturing into the international market as a means of offsetting growing high competition in the Japanese domestic market.

In an interview with the AirFinance Journal, airline officials said they see 'huge potential' for international flights - China in particular given Miyazaki's proximity to the Chinese mainland.

Last year, airline president and CEO Hiroshi Takahashi alluded to the possible launch of international charters from Kyushu to neighbouring Asian nations this year.

At present, the carrier uses a fleet of eleven B737-800s to connect Kagoshima, Kobe, Kumamoto, Oita, Miyazaki, and Nagasaki with Okinawa Naha and Tokyo Haneda.
