Lufthansa Cargo (LH, Frankfurt International) Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Peter Gerber, says his airline has again deferred making a decision concerning the first of five B777-F options the Lufthansa (LH, Frankfurt International) subsidiary holds with Boeing (BOE, Washington National).

Announcing an operating profit of EUR100 million (USD105 million) for its latest financial year, Gerber said a choice would be made by September of this year. The German carrier had originally planned to decide by March of last year only to delay that date until April of this year.

Lufthansa Cargo took delivery of its fifth B777 freighter in February this year joining its other fleet of fourteen MD-11(F)s.

Offering dedicated freighter as well as belly-hold capacity, Lufthansa Cargo operates flights throughout the world in addition to cooperating with ANA - All Nippon Airways (NH, Tokyo Haneda) through an air cargo joint venture. Gerber has confirmed recent reports that the cargo airline is planning to enter into another partnership with another undisclosed carrier later this year.
