Proflight Zambia (P0, Lusaka) will begin long-term CRJ100 operations next month following a successful trial period with ZS-CMB (cn 7215), leased from South Africa's CemAir (5Z, Johannesburg O.R. Tambo), during the last quarter of last year.

The carrier said in a statement that the type would primarily be deployed on its Lusaka to Ndola International and Solwezi routes. It will also be used to satisfy peak demand on flights to Livingstone and Mfuwe.

“Proflight Zambia has grown steadily but surely over the last few years, adding new routes and growing passenger numbers, hence now is the time to increase our fleet by adding a larger jet aircraft,” Proflight Director of Government and Industry Affairs, Captain Philip Lemba, said.

Proflight also operates three Jetstream 41s; four Jetstream 32s; and two Cessna (single turboprop) 208B Grand Caravans on flights throughout Zambia as well as to Lilongwe in Malawi and to Lubumbashi in the neighbouring Democratic Republic of Congo.
