Afriqiyah Airways (8U, Tripoli Mitiga) has commenced international flights out of Kufra, linking the south-eastern Saharan town with Tunis via Brak. Additional flights to Egypt are also expected to commence in the coming months.
Though Tunisia has closed it airspace to all Libyan traffic originating in the west of the country, currently under Islamist control, flights from the east are still permitted provided they undergo Libyan government security checks in either Brack or Tobruk.
