TAP Portugal (Lisbon) backer, the Portuguese government, has issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for its newest Public Services Obligation route starting in the country's northern interior and ending down in the south.

According to a Lisbon government gazette, the Ministry of Economics is offering to subsidize the Braganca-Vila Real-Viseu-Cascais-Portimão route to the tune of EUR7.15 million (USD7.79 million) over a three-year contractual period beginning next year. In terms of funding, EUR2.6 million (USD2.8 million) will be disbursed in 2016 and in 2017 while 2018 will be allocated EUR1.95 million (USD2.13 million).

Interested operators have until May 27 to submit their proposals following which a decision will be announced in late July.
