Air New Zealand (NZ, Auckland International) has set a tentative date of September 6 for its B737-300 fleet's last scheduled commercial flight. AirlineRoute reports the type's last route will be Auckland International-Christchurch.

As previously reported, the B737s will be replaced with the airline's incoming fleet of A320ceo and neo twinjets.

Air New Zealand has operated the B737 for almost 50 years taking delivery of its first of nine B737-200Advs in September 1968.
