LAN Airlines (Santiago de Chile) has ended A340-300 scheduled operations with CC-CQF (cn 442) operating the type's last dedicated commercial flight - LA800 Sydney Kingsford Smith-Auckland International-Santiago de Chile - on Friday, April 17.

As such, the A340 will continue to play a limited role in the airline's operations, albeit as a back-up, until June 1 or thereabouts.

LAN had used its three remaining A340-300s on trans-Pacific flights to Australia and New Zealand where they have now been replaced with B787-8s.
