Namibia flyafrica (Windhoek International) last week secured its Foreign Air Operator Permit (FAOP) from the Namibian Directorate of Civil Aviation paving the way for it to launch operations later this month the Windhoek Observer newspaper has reported.

The start-up had planned to commence commercial operations in March only to defer the date indefinitely as it had yet to secure all requisite documentation.

According to Clifford Strydom, the CEO of Namibia Flyafrica's local parent Bay Air Aviation (Windhoek Eros), the LCC will resume advertising for its flights later this week. The carrier had planned to offer return Windhoek International-Johannesburg O.R. Tambo flights as well as 7th Freedom Johannesburg O.R. Tambo-Lusaka flights using Namibian-registered B737-500s.
