Swiss (LX, Zurich) has finalized an order with Boeing (BOE, Washington National) for three more B777-300(ER)s valued at USD990 million at current list prices. Overall, the Lufthansa (LH, Frankfurt International) subsidiary now has nine of the type on firm order from the US manufacturer.

The first of the aircraft, HB-JNA (msn 44582), is slated to arrive in January of next year and, regulatory requirements aside, will be operated under wet-lease by Swiss Global Air Lines (Zurich) on the Zurich-New York JFK transatlantic route beginning in February.

A further five airframes will arrive during the course of 2016 with the remaining trio - those announced in this order - to be delivered in February and April of 2017 and March of 2018.
