Adria Airways (Ljubljana) pilots are looking to take control of the carrier through the acquisition of a majority stake Slovenia's Poslovni dnevnik Finance newspaper has reported. The issue will be discussed by the Slovenian Pilots’ Union later this week.

EX-YU Aviation news reports the pilots are looking into the possibility of taking out a loan with a local union-owned bank, Delavska hranilica, which last year acquired a 57% stake in Maribor Edvard Rusjan Airport.

Though the carrier has gradually fought its way back into the black, the crew have reportedly expressed dissatisfaction with management claiming they see no viable future for the airline under current conditions.

Ljubljana put a 91.58% stake in the carrier up for grabs after the Slovenian Sovereign Holding (SDH), the Bank Asset Management Company (DUTB), and the PDP restructuring firm all agreed to dispose of their individual shareholdings in the Adria Airways earlier this year.
