Embraer Executive, the business jet unit of Brazilian manufacturer Embraer (EMB, São José dos Campos Professor Urbano Ernesto Stumpf), says MEA - Middle East Airlines (ME, Beirut) has placed a firm order for one midsize Legacy 500 with options for a second of the same type. Delivery of the firm order is scheduled for the last quarter of the year.
The Lebanese carrier is in the process of establishing a business jet subsidiary at Beirut offering VIP charter flights.
In a related development, German VIP charter specialist, Air Hamburg (Hamburg Helmut Schmidt), has ordered a Legacy 650 whose delivery is scheduled for the third quarter of this year. Altogether, Air Hamburg operates five Legacy 600/650s and one E505.
