Oman Air (WY, Muscat) has signed long-term lease agreements with the Oman Brunei Aviation Leasing Company (OBALC) for three B737-900(ER)s, the first two of which were delivered this month. The third is scheduled to arrive in November of this year.

Oman Air uses the type to serve destinations throughout Oman, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, and Pakistan

In March, Oman's State General Reserve Fund (SGRF) established the OBALC as a joint venture with the Oman Brunei Investment Co (OBIC) which is itself a split 50/50 joint-venture between SGRF and the Brunei Investment Agency. Overall, OBALC shareholders include SGRF with 30%, OBIC with 60%, and 10% which is held by other investors.
