SkyWork Airlines (Bern) says it will resume services to London City next month following a recent decision by Swiss (LX, Zurich) to pull out of Basel/Mulhouse/Freiburg, CH. Skywork says it wants to continue the tradition of a Swiss carrier plying the Basel-London City route.

Using a Saab 2000 wet-leased from Darwin Airline (Lugano), SkyWork's Bern-Basel-London City route will launch with a 6x weekly frequency on July 19, graduating to a 12x weekly service effective August 31.

The Berne-based carrier switched its London operations from London City to London Southend in July last year in a bid to provide better flight times for corporate travellers. It says it will continue to serve Southend non-stop from Berne but will adjust its schedules later this year.
