Alaska Airlines (AS, Seattle Tacoma International) is planning to firm up eight E175 options with regional partner SkyWest Airlines (OO, Salt Lake City), the Alaskan carrier's CEO Brad Tilden has told FlightGlobal.

Speaking at the Airports Council International (ACI) North America Jumpstart conference, Tilden said his airline would use the Embraer (EMB, São José dos Campos Professor Urbano Ernesto Stumpf) Regional Jets to replace the eight CRJ700s Skywest currently operates for Alaska Airlines over the next fifteen months. Talks are reportedly close to concluding.

Alaska Airlines ordered a total of fifteen EMB-175s (seven firm with eight options) from the Brazilian manufacturer in November last year.
