Garuda Indonesia (GA, Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta) has signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac) for the purchase of thirty A350 XWB aircraft. The announcement, made during the ongoing Paris Air Show 2015 at Paris Le Bourget, adds to another LOI Garuda placed with Boeing (BOE, Washington National) for thirty B787-9s and thirty B737 MAX 8s earlier in the day.

“Following our success in revitalising our regional operation in Asia and the Pacific, the development of our long haul network will be a priority in the coming years,” Arif Wibowo, CEO of Garuda Indonesia, said.

The Indonesian flag carrier says the aircraft will offer it the ability to fly non-stop from Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta or Denpasar to Europe.
