LOT Polish Airlines (LO, Warsaw Chopin) is to mark the end of a moratorium banning it from opening new long haul routes with the launch of direct flights to Japan early next year.

In 2013, the Polish carrier was banned by the European Commission (EC) from opening up any new routes pending the completion of a restructuring programme. As such, the Polish carrier plans to operate its Warsaw Chopin-Tokyo Narita route 3x weekly onboard B787-8 equipment effective January 13.

LOT currently serves Beijing Capital, Chicago O'Hare, New York JFK and Toronto Pearson from its Warsaw base.
