Air Transat (TS, Montréal Trudeau) has been fined CAD150,000 (USD122,000) by Transport Canada for safety violations that occurred during 2014.

The Canadian leisure operator said in a statement that it had authorized six engineers to sign off "for technical work without having updated their mandatory non-technical training, due to procedural shortcomings."

The deficiency was subsequently corrected, the airline added.

Air Transat operates a fleet of nine A310-300s, six A330-200s, four A330-300s, and four B737-800s on flights from various Canadian cities to Mexico, the Caribbean as well as to Europe.
